Prior Experiences:
Technology is used by individuals every day, especially students. I have not had a lot of prior experience when it come to using technology. I know how to use the basic Microsoft applications, but beyond that my experiences are limited. I've learned how to use smart boards in my previous education courses, but that's all of the educational technology I've been exposed to.

What I hope to learn:
I hope to learn more about the modern technology present in todays age to use as a future educator with my patients as an SLP. Technology is ever changing, so even someone that believes they're experienced with technology can still learn new tricks. I want to learn more about the technology relevant in the classroom to keep students engaged and excited about the content I present. I'm not sure exactly what educational technology is, so I hope to learn more about everything it entails!

Learning Style:
I learned that I'm an active learner. I value the present and taking initiative to understand concepts. It's clear through the test that I'm a visual learner over a verbal learner too. The use of diagrams and pictures enables me to better understand content then just listening to lectures.

    It's OK that you are not sure exactly what educational technology is. You will develop a better understanding later.

Blog Journal #5 I chose to look at the ELA standards for kindergarteners. The standards listed were basic and mainly consisted of the students being exposed to different types of technology when it comes to writing. The technology used for this grade involves a SmartBoard, storybook creator websites, and paint programs. I do feel prepared to implement this technology in my classroom as I've been exposed to all of this growing up. I've had to observe/volunteer in education classrooms and have helped kids work with SmartBoards. I also had to use a SmartBoard for one of my previous classes for a presentation.
